The DermWellesley space consists of check-in and check-out areas, a waiting room with lounge seating, product display cases, exam rooms, procedure rooms, patient restrooms, staff support areas (nurse station, break room, clean and dirty utility room, and storage), and a manager’s office. One of the challenges of the design layout was a long, narrow corridor with exam rooms on both sides and little access to natural light. In response, the design team choose bright, airy tones in the finishes, giving the space a more open, wide and cohesive look throughout. Key accents were also added to create a more welcoming environment for patients, including stone wall, stainless steel signage, gloss finish mill-work and accent pendant fixtures.
