Sustainability is inherent in the Dyer Brown method. Whether it is achieving LEED accreditation for our staff and projects or its British predecessor rating standard, BREEAM (British Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method), Dyer Brown as an organization is committed to environmentally appropriate solutions. These solutions do not always mean having projects certified but can mean a careful selection of materials or adherence to a national standard significantly in excess of either LEED or BREEAM as we did for the State Street Corporation in Luxembourg.
Sustainability also means a careful and considered attempt to re-use and recycle buildings and their components. We have undertaken projects in the United Kingdom in buildings that are over 900 years old and still being used for office and commercial purposes. In the United States we have assisted clients in seeking successful designation of Historical Landmark status for purposes of preservation as well as tax credit finance incentives.
